Attention drivers, we are building ITS Opole!
The construction of the Intelligent Traffic and Public Transport Management System is underway throughout the city in Opole – the so-called ITS Opole.
Therefore, we would like to inform you about temporary difficulties related to the modernization of nearly 50 intersections and pedestrian crossings with traffic lights. The works involve retrofitting the signaling system and comprehensive replacement of controllers in order to introduce intelligent area traffic control within almost the entire road network of the city.
Extensive modernization is related to the introduction of temporary traffic organization and the point switching off of the signaling. Moreover, new signaling control programs are being implemented at intersections.
In many cases, the arrangement of phases will change, and thus the way of moving around intersections will be different than before.
We kindly ask you to exercise particular caution and to pay attention to the temporary marking, in particular regarding the temporary deactivation of the signaling devices for the duration of the works.
In addition, we ask you to pay attention to the light signals emitted by traffic lights at modernized intersections and to watch out for pedestrians and cyclists passing by, who may also move around the intersections in a different way than before.
